Ericsson signs patent license agreement with Apple


(CercleFinance.com) – Ericsson and Apple today entered into a multi-year worldwide patent licensing agreement between the two companies. The agreement includes cross-licensing of patented technologies essential to cellular standards and grants certain other patent rights.

Additionally, Ericsson and Apple have mutually agreed to strengthen their technology and business collaboration.

This settlement puts an end to lawsuits filed by the two companies in several countries, including before the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Texas, as well as complaints filed before the United States International Trade Commission (USITC).

Including the effects of the agreement covering sales from January 15, 2022, and including ongoing DPI activities with all other licensees, Ericsson estimates fourth quarter 2022 DPI licensing revenue to be 5. SEK 5–6.0 billion.
