It’s a jam-packed sports program that movie star Tom Cruise will unwind in London on Sunday. In the afternoon he enjoyed Novak Djokovic’s Grand Slam victory against Matteo Berrettini in Wimbledon, a little later the 59-year-old went to Wembley Stadium, about an hour’s drive away.
Cruise is not the only star who does the honors and watches the European Championship final between Italy and England on site. A top model, high-ranking politicians and football legends can also be found among the 65,000 spectators.
David Beckham undoubtedly falls into the latter category – he has always been in the stands in previous England games. Next to him: the English super model Kate Moss. The density of VIPs in the VIP gallery is high. The British royal family is located not far from Moss, Beckham and Cruise. In the national stadium, Prince William, wife Kate and son George sit on the blue seats specially made for them.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will of course not miss the final either. His counterpart, the Italian President Sergio Mattarella, is also there – one of the approximately thousand Italian fans in the stadium.
Back to the football greats: On the one hand there is Sir Geoff Hurst on the list of honorary guests. With the Wembley goal in 1966, the now 79-year-old led his nation to their first and so far only world championship.
Also there is ex-Bayern boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (left), who has placed himself next to PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi. His current coach, Mauricio Pochettino, debates with Ireland legend Robbie Keane before the game. (dad / mam)
