Euro zone: slight increase in unemployment in September


(CercleFinance.com) – In September 2023, the euro zone’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6.5%, up from 6.4% in August, while that of the EU remained stable at 6.0% month-on-month, according to data published by Eurostat.

The statistical office estimates that in September, 13.026 million people were unemployed in the EU, including 11.017 million in the eurozone. Compared to August, unemployment increased by 95,000 people in the EU and by 69,000 in the eurozone.
