Euronext: cash activity declines, but bonds shine – 10/11/2023 at 09:53


(CercleFinance.com) – Activity on Euronext’s cash markets fell again in October, but increased significantly on the side of fixed income instruments, according to data published by the stock exchange operator.

Regarding cash markets, the average volume of daily transactions fell by 20% compared to October 2022, reaching 2.38 million last month, while showing a small increase of 2% compared to September. .

In a press release, Euronext emphasizes, however, that trading volumes on its fixed income product markets continued to perform ‘very well’.

On its MTS Cash bond platform, the average daily volume jumped 76% compared to October 2022, to 27.83 million transactions, the highest in almost two years.

On MTS Repo, its dealer-to-dealer interest rate trading system, average daily volume climbed 27% in adjusted terms from October 2022, representing a peak in activity since March 2020.

The IPO market remains particularly depressed, with only two new listings on Euronext in October, compared to six in September and October 2022.
