European stock markets end up, helped by the Bank of Canada

European stocks ended higher on Wednesday, hoping for a slowdown in central bank rate hikes after a lower-than-expected increase in the Bank of Canada rate.

The Paris Stock Exchange took 0.41% to 6,276.31 points. Frankfurt rose 1.09%, London 0.61% and Milan 0.45%.
