Europlasma: Europlasma doubles the ambitions of its Morcenx site and bounces back from a new floor

(BFM Bourse) – The scope of the first contract for the transformation of industrial waste into fuel has been sharply revised, following the success of the first campaign carried out by the group on its Morcenx site. Europlasma now hopes to be able to process up to 100,000 tonnes per year there.

The specialist in the treatment and recovery of hazardous waste Europlasma, whose price is undergoing a downward trend under the effect of the issue of capital dilutive instruments, on Friday experienced a new resurgence of interest on the stock market with the announcement of the doubling of the volume of activity linked to the first contract won by the group since its refocusing. Around 10:45 am, the action jumped 14.87% to 0.132 euro, after registering a new historic low of nearly 11 cents a few days ago. The volumes traded on the share rose to a level unheard of since last September.

Europlasma has announced that it has signed an amendment to the contract signed in March 2021 by its subsidiary CHOPEX with a “benchmark in the waste recovery industry”). Originally, the contract aimed at the reception over five years of several tens of thousands of tonnes of waste from economic activity (DAE, a new term for what until now was called Ordinary Industrial Waste) and their transformation into Fuels. Recovery solids (CSR, which can then be used to supply installations such as cement factories, blast furnaces or boiler rooms), for a minimum turnover estimated at 4.5 million euros.

The amendment to the initial contract, signed after the success of a first CSR transformation campaign started in spring 2021, almost doubles the annual production of CSR. Europlasma and its partner (whose identity remains confidential) have also agreed to an increase in the price per tonne of CSR produced, particularly in view of the increase in the price of energy.

Finally, the two partners also agreed on the extension of the powers delegated to Europlasma, in particular as regards the logistics of third-party DAEs. As a result, the turnover generated by this contract is now estimated at a minimum of 9 million euros.

While the group’s teams have gradually increased the daily treatment capacity, and given the discussions initiated with its industrial partners, CHOPEX has also asked the competent authorities to authorize the site to treat up to 100,000 tonnes per year, compared to a current capacity of 55,000 tons per year.

“This is a new success for Europlasma. Let us remember that when the takeover the plant was shut down and this new CSR preparation activity was launched just a year ago. We had then announced in March 2020 [sic, 2021 en fait] the signing of our first contract and our ambition to double the volume of activity in the coming months. It is now done! “, Welcomed Jérôme Garnache-Creuillot, the new CEO of Europlasma.

“Every day, we demonstrate our commitment to preserving the environment by offering today multiple solutions to reduce the ecological footprint of human activity. This already positions us de facto as a major player in the decontamination of complex waste. The story has only just begun, however, “added the leader.
