EUROPLASMA – MG-Valdunes takeover project: lifting of suspensive conditions and financial commitments – 02/29/2024 at 7:00 p.m.

Europlasma, specialist in the treatment of hazardous waste, material recovery and decarbonization, confirmed to the Lille-Métropole Commercial Court the lifting of the suspensive conditions relating to the takeover offer from MG-Valdunes, the last French wheel manufacturer and axles for the railway industry.

Indeed, following a consultation meeting, the stakeholders involved in this project confirmed their commitments to enable the resumption of the two MG Valdunes production sites, the Leffrinckoucke forge and the heat treatment plant and machining in Trith-Saint-Léger. Thus, Europlasma intends to bring to life the only last train wheel production sector in France.

The financial requirements necessary for the implementation of the first phase of the so-called “turnaround” recovery plan, focused on the historic activities of the two sites, are estimated at just over €35 million over the next three years. The various stakeholders have recorded their commitments, which are distributed as follows:

• €15 million for Europlasma in equity over three years;
• €15 million for the State in the form of loans;
• €5 million for local authorities (including €4 million in land financing and €1 million in subsidies);
• €1 million for SNCF, a historic customer of MG-Valdunes, according to terms which remain to be defined.
