EUROPLASMA – Project to develop a process for recycling Lithium-ion battery elements with a Chinese investment fund – 09/25/2023 at 6:00 p.m.

Europlasma, specialist in treatment and hazardous waste, material recovery and decarbonization, announces that its Chinese subsidiary Europlasma Environmental Technologies (EET) has entered into negotiations with an investment fund based in Hangzhou, with a view to developing an innovative process for recycling Lithium-ion battery anodes used in electric vehicles.

The project follows work carried out during the second quarter of 2023 by EET in its research center located in Hangzhou. The results observed demonstrate the relevance of applying the process to regenerate the anodes of lithium batteries that have reached the end of their life.

Discussions with this investment fund specializing in disruptive technologies linked to environmental preservation focus on:

– financing work to develop a pilot demonstrator for recycling lithium battery anodes,

– the sharing of exploitation rights for this process developed by EET,

– an option to acquire a stake in the company operating the process in China.

The spontaneous request for this fund to finance research and development work illustrates the growing reputation of the subsidiary of the Europlasma Group and shows the place that EET is gradually taking on the Chinese scene in the field of recycling and recovery of solid waste. .
