In 2025, Dominic Blanc will step down as President of the Swiss Football Association (SFV). When possible successors at the top of the SFV were discussed in the last few months, the name Bernhard Heusler came up again and again.
Heusler, who was at the helm of the club during FC Basel’s most successful period, worked with his company on the double eagle affair surrounding the Swiss national team after the 2018 World Cup, among other things. Even then, he was brought into play for a mandate in the SFV. However, the 59-year-old did not consider the commitment to be “credible” at the time.
