In the columns of the magazine Closer, available on newsstands this Friday, March 3, 2023, her husband and lyricist, Jean-Jacques Debout, reveals that the children’s singer recently faced a terrible mishap.
It was just before one of her concerts, while she was praying at Strasbourg Cathedral, that the unfortunate incident took place. “Chantal is very religious. In Strasbourg, on January 14, she went to the cathedral in the morning. She lit three candles. While she was praying, a guy stole her wallet, with her credit cards , his papers”, says the 82-year-old singer-songwriter. However, according to Jean-Jacques Debout, the interpreter of It’s Guignol! knew how to get the good out of a bad situation. “During the show, she recounted what had just happened to her during the painting featuring the Nickel Feet, asking the three lads if they could find the thief. It made the audience happy!”, remembers the latter.
After 57 years of marriage, Chantal still surprises him
A very positive attitude that greatly surprised the octogenarian, who is still surprised by his wife’s ability to improvise, even after 57 years of marriage! As a reminder, Jean-Jacques Debout and Chantal Goya met in 1963, when the latter had just shot Male Female, by Jean-Louis Godard. They said yes on February 25, 1966 in Nogent-sur-Marne and had two children, Jean-Paul, painter, and Clarisse, photographer.
