Vianney grew up surrounded by three brothers. Among them is Édouard Bureau, writer, who released his second novel entitled The Great Valley (Éd. Recherche Midi) last August. Gala.fr went to meet him, in order to find out more about this passionate young man, who is no less fascinating, who is already being compared to Joseph Kessel and Romain Gary.
In the Office family, I ask for the brother. Because if Vianney manages to move the crowds to the rhythm of his songs for years, he is not the only member of his siblings to have talent. Édouard Bureau, his one year younger son, is also known in his field. On the guitar, he prefers the pen. You would have understood it, he is a novelist. Two years later The lion without a mane, which earned him the Jean-Claude Brialy Prize for the First novel, he published a second book, entitled The great valley, published last August by Éditions du Recherches Midi. A novel written in 2018, which strangely echoes today’s society and its desires to escape: “It’s a coincidence, because I wrote it in 2018. My first novel had not even been released. Evolving in a job “a little off-putting“, the native of Pau first devoted himself to poetry. A way for him to escape from the real world and “travel internally“.”I really wrote poetry until I was 22-23 and I got into short story contests and this prose form appealed to me more. I understood that I could put poetry in my prose and it was from this idea that I wrote my novels. There was a poetic bias of my writing from the start“, explains Édouard Bureau. A singular writing, also mature for his young age, which earned him compared to Joseph Kessel and Romain Gary : “It makes me very happy of course. But I am convinced that I have not yet reached their writing maturity“, observes, in all humility, the one who works today in the public administration.

Coming from a family of artists – his two parents are musicians, his singer brother – Édouard Bureau closely follows Vianney’s journey. Vianney, who nicknamed him “Doudou”, is also very attentive to the career of novelist of his little brother. “He likes what I do, he has a very benevolent outlook on my work. Two very different styles
Whether in their career or in their way of dressing, the two brothers have very different tastes. Édouard Bureau assumes it, he does not compete with the one who graduated from the École supérieure des arts et techniques de la mode (ESMOD) in 2014. Because before learning music, Vianney studies fashion and drawing.
