Around Ascension Day on Thursday, the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club (ÖAMTC) in Salzburg expects increased traffic due to short trips.
If you want to go away for a short time around Ascension Day, you may have to accept delays. Short trips, for example to neighboring Germany, will be particularly noticeable on the Walserberg (A1). Oncoming traffic areas on the West Autobahn (A1) between Salzburg North and Wallersee will affect excursion traffic. There is also potential for traffic jams on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) between Hallein and Werfen. Several construction sites lead to lane narrowing here.
