An explosion paralyzed parts of Romania’s largest oil refinery Petromidia in Navodari on Friday. One worker was killed in the accident and five others were injured.
Shock also for bathers on nearby beaches: A huge, thick black column of smoke drifted south in their direction. The fire was quickly brought under control. The Romanian public prosecutor’s office is now investigating how the explosion came about.
