Express meal idea: onion tart in 15 minutes flat: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

It’s not always easy to have ideas for everyday dishes or simply to find the motivation to cook. But some recipes only take a few minutes and require very few ingredients. The ideal when you don’t feel like it is to make toast, salads or pies, because you just need to cut a few vegetables and/or proteins and that’s it. Moreover on Instagram, the account @lapetitechefmumu offers a very quick onion tart recipe, even cooking.

The recipe for express onion tart

Onions are one of the essentials to always have at home because they are present in many preparations, whether raw or cooked. The onion itself can also be the star of a dish like in onion soups or this magnificent tart.

The ingredients for this pie recipe

  • about 10 small onions
  • 1 puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon of crème fraîche
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 20 g of parmesan
  • 30g butter
  • Thyme
  • Milk

The steps for preparing this recipe

  1. First, peel your onions and cut them into fairly thick slices. Reserve.
  2. In a bowl or small mixing bowl, mix the crème fraîche with the mustard and parmesan. You can use cream with 30% fat, but for a lighter version, choose a less fatty cream.
  3. Spread the puff pastry (ideally rectangular) on a baking tray. To help you when filling the dough, form edges with a knife without piercing. Then brush your message with cream/mustard/parmesan.
  4. On top of this mixture, distribute your onion rings.
  5. With a kitchen brush, brush milk all over the dough (even on the edges) then sprinkle with parmesan.
  6. Bake your tart for 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 200°C.
  7. Once your pie is cooked, you can add more parmesan if you wish and then do the same thing with thyme.

With what accompaniments should you serve this onion tart?

In addition to being good, this pie is very pretty because the onions are rather symmetrical. You can serve it with a green salad or a mixed salad. In winter, you can add grated carrots and red cabbage for example and in summer, a tomato and a cucumber. For protein, don’t hesitate to add a soft-boiled egg or bacon to your salad. You can also make zucchini or leek tagliatelle with vinaigrette.
