Exynos 2200: end of the suspense, Samsung will present the chip in time for the Galaxy S22

Samsung promises to unveil its new chip (a priori the Exynos 2200) at the same time as its next smartphones (the Galaxy S22). The day before this declaration, the brand had a miss that marked the spirits.

We plan to unveil the new app processor when a new Samsung smartphone launches. Said an official from Samsung Electronics. ” There are no issues with production and performance […] “. Here is what a representative of Samsung announced to the media Business Korea. Understand: the Exynos 2200 will indeed be presented very soon and at the same time (or just before) the Galaxy S22 smartphones. *

The announcement is surprising. This takes place on January 12, 2022. However, the day before, Samsung missed the appointment that he himself had set to present his new home chip. The brand had indeed announced an event for January 11, promising in particular announcements around the promising RDNA 2 GPU which the future SoC will be equipped with. Except that patatras! That day, Samsung finally gave no sign of life.

Still a doubt between the Exynos 2200, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Galaxy S22

As a reminder, the officialization of the Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected for February 8. The presentation of the Exynos 2200 (if it is indeed called that) would therefore take place in these waters, perhaps even at the end of January.

A doubt still remains however: will the Galaxy S22 sold in Europe benefit from this Exynos 2200 or will they switch to Qualcomm SoCs with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as has already been suggested by some rumors? Because announcements almost at the same time of the chip and smartphones do not necessarily mean that they are linked. It is very likely, but still uncertain.

All these mysteries should be cleared up over the next few weeks as we approach February 8 and the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S22.
