The social network Facebook announces change through a redesigned interface, to simplify the control of the content that can be discovered. A new tab is appearing.

To keep the loyalty of his audience and offer him better browsing comfort, Mark Zuckerberg announced Thursday the launch of new elements on Facebook. The social network welcomes the “Publication thread”, a new tab; while Home becomes the main tab on mobile. Users should gradually see the changes coming to the app.

Facebook allows you to create your “Favorites” list, for more personalization

Recognizing that users want more options for sorting and viewing their content, Facebook is launching the “Posts Feed” tab, which we’re being sold as ” a new way to find the most recent posts from your friends, favorites, pages and groups “.

Specifically, the tab comes as a way to access content posted by people, pages or communities (this includes groups, which have been enjoying a resurgence in popularity on Facebook for a while) with whom you are already in contact. contact on the social network of the Meta group. This tab, materialized by a new button at the top right of the screen on mobile (stuck to the Messenger and Search shortcuts), does not include recommended content. Remember that on iOS, this shortcut bar is at the bottom of the application.

This new tab is accompanied by a list of Favorites that you can create, by selecting the friends, pages and groups that are of most interest to you, and that you want to find under this “Publications thread” tab, which will sort the posts chronologically for you, from the most recent to the least recent.

A revamped Home, which becomes a “discovery engine”

Alongside this, Facebook is renaming the main tab to “Home”, which is actually the first thing you see when you open the app. The company wants to give it back this “discovery tool” aspect, emphasizing here the recommendations, but not only.

From Home, which will therefore act as a discovery engine, you will be able to create and find Reels and see the content shared by your contacts in the feed and stories. Facebook even promises that it will soon be possible to discover more recommended content and new creators. In any case, the social network relies on machine learning (automatic learning), which “ takes into account thousands of signals in order to get to the heart of the matter and to classify the content so as to offer you what seems to us the most interesting for you “says Facebook.

Facebook, which intends to collect user opinions on these changes in the coming months, is in the process of rolling out this new interface, on iOS and Android, worldwide.
