It's done. 2020 is finally behind us and we can concentrate fully on the new year. So it is high time to get rid of a few old burdens and make room for new things in the closet. We have the trends that we will part with in 2021 …

What better time of year to clean out your wardrobe than at the turn of the year? We took a close look at the trends of 2020 and looked at which fashion appearances we can easily differ from.

Batik in everyday life

Yes, we admit: The batik trend has successfully brought us through the first lockdown phase. Whether homemade or shopped, it was colorful in spring and summer. But every love story comes to an end and we say: Bye Bye, Batik! We make an exception for everyone for whom the separation is still too difficult: For vacation on the beach or in the festival season, the boho pieces can be dug out again. But we should leave it at that.

Hair clip layering

Flashy hair accessories were very popular in 2020. And while statement hair clips with rhinestones or pearls will continue to accompany us in the New Year, especially on chic occasions, we are saying goodbye to the layering variant with thin clips and only using our bobby pins in 2021 to fix our hairstyle.

Snake pattern

Whether boots, blazers or a total look – Snakeprint was really to be seen everywhere in the past year. But we've had enough of fake snakes for now. While Leo is still a long-runner, we prefer to provide variety with the zebra instead of wild snakes on the Aminmalprint front.

Metallic boots

Even if gold and silver booties have always made for shiny appearances in the past, they will remain in the back row of our shoe cupboards in 2021. Instead, we use crocodile embossing or ankle boots in trendy white. Just as eye-catching and stylish, but definitely more elegant and timeless.

Even if we say goodbye to these trends for the time being, that does not mean that they will never come back. You know that. Everything comes back at some point …

Micro bags

Hach, the micro-bag trend with its cute size and bright colors was already fun this year and definitely put you in a good mood! But let's be honest: the mini bags have never been particularly practical. That's why our motto for 2021 is: The bigger the better! Or at least so big that you can at least stow your cell phone, wallet and keys without any problems. What luck, the trendy bags from the French label Jacquemus are also one size larger.
