The cast of “Fast X” has a Hollywood legend richer: Oscar winner Rita Moreno will play Vin Diesel’s grandmother!

The family of Vin Diesels (54) “Fast & Furious” series is growing and growing: After John Cena (45) joined the cast as a lost brother in part nine, a true Hollywood legend was won for the upcoming tenth edition To play grandmother Toretto: Oscar winner Rita Moreno (90). Diesel gave the happy news together with Moreno and “F&F” partner Michelle Rodriguez (43) in a video announced on his official Instagram channel.

“It’s always been my dream to work with Rita Moreno,” says Diesel. “And the fact that she’s here now, playing my grandmother, makes my soul smile.” Moreno is also thrilled to be part of the action franchise at 90: “I’m so excited, it’s going to be so much fun,” says the star, whose career began in 1950.

Not the only newcomer

Again and again, Diesel posts exclusive insights into the current shooting of “Fast X” on Instagram. In addition to the well-known stars of the film series, well-known stars once again join the cast in the penultimate part. In addition to Moreno, those will include Brie Larson (32), Jason Momoa (42) and Alan Ritchson (39).

However, none of the many members of the ensemble can keep up with the incredible career of Rita Moreno. The Puerto Rican has been in front of the camera for over 70 years and is one of only 16 people worldwide who belong to the so-called EGOT circle. That means: Moreno has already won at least one Emmy, one Grammy, one Oscar and one Tony award. She won the first prize in 1962 – the golden boy as “Best Supporting Actress” in the musical “West Side Story”.

It will be a while before she can be admired in “Fast X”. In mid-May 2023, pretty much exactly one year from now, the strip should hit the cinemas.
