Ronnie Dunston is actually a committed father who does everything for his baby and also takes on the tasks on an equal footing. Still, there was one point where he couldn't take his wife seriously – until he had a very drastic experience.
What did he not want to believe her?
He was always totally irritated when his wife grimaced so painfully while breastfeeding. Humans, according to his enviable carefree attitude, are quasi mammals, and when a baby drinks breast milk, it is quasi the most natural, primal process in the world. There practically CANNOT be any pain. And anyway, what should hurt if a baby sucks a little so peacefully?

Yes, he now ruefully admits. But before that he seriously meant to have to raise his wife a bit with her "mimosa-like way". For him the matter was finally clear: "She doesn't even have teeth, why are you standing in line?"

Indeed, and fate struck back mercilessly. The day came quickly when he was alone with his little daughter and wanted to give her the bottle. And suddenly he realized on his own body that his poor wife hadn't "messed up" at all.
