While in this country the fathers are already celebrated on Ascension Day, the dads in the USA and Great Britain are later on. Traditionally, every third Sunday in June it’s that time. Numerous celebrities posted loving words to their husbands and fathers over the weekend.
‘We love our girldad’: Demi Moore is ‘always grateful’ to Bruce Willis
Greetings to Bruce Willis (68) are particularly heartfelt. It’s the action star’s first Father’s Day after his family revealed he has frontotemporal dementia. Demi Moore (60), who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, posted an old snap of her ex-husband. The actor then jokes around with their still young daughters Rumer (34 today), Scout (31) and Tallulah (29), sticking out his tongue like the girls.
“I will always be grateful to you for giving me these three beautiful girls,” Demi Moore captioned the picture. “We love our girldad.”
Emma Heming-Willis hails ‘greatest dad I know’
Bruce Willis’ current wife Emma Heming-Willis (45) also used Father’s Day to express her “deep appreciation and respect” for her husband. She described his upbringing of their two daughters Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9) as “unconventional” – what he teaches them will “last for generations”. The values he instills in his children include “unconditional love, kindness, strength, compassion, patience, generosity, resilience.”
Emma Heming-Willis closed hers Instagram text with congratulations to “the greatest dad I know”. In addition, she provided a more recent picture that shows Bruce Willis and his daughter Mabel cuddling.
Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrates two men, Gwyneth Paltrow three
Catherine Zeta-Jones (53) greeted via Instagram two fathers. Once she celebrates her husband, Michael Douglas (78), as “the best father my children could have”. The couple, who have been married since 2000, have children Dylan (22) and Cary (20).
Zeta-Jones also remembered her father-in-law, Kirk Douglas (1916-2020). “We love you and miss you,” she wrote. The photo she posted shows Kirk, Michael and their two children.
Kate Hudson (44) celebrated Instagram meanwhile her stepfather. The actress grew up with actor Kurt Russell (72), since 1983 he has been the partner of her mother Goldie Hawn (77). “Oh how we love you Pa,” wrote Kate Hudson. She wished Kurt Russell the “happiest holiday”. “I love you,” the actress concluded, which was accompanied by a picture of Russell celebrating with family.
Gwyneth Paltrow (50) sent in her Instagram story congratulations to three men. First she greeted her husband Brad Falchuk (52), with whom she has been married since 2018. She calls him not only the best dog dad in the world, but also the best stepdad to her children Apple (19) and Moses (17). Her father Chris Martin (46) also wished her all the best for Father’s Day. And most recently, she shared an old picture with her father, producer Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002.
Beckhams celebrate UK Father’s Day
Father’s Day was celebrated on Sunday not only in the USA, but also in Great Britain. Victoria Beckham (49) used the occasion to celebrate her David (48). She posted up Instagram a photo series that shows the ex-footballer with their four children. “You really are our be-all and end-all,” wrote the former Spice Girl. “We love you so, so much”.
