Feel the power of bass with the new range of Sony ULT speakers and headphones

Sony continues the complete overhaul of its commercial strategy, observed since the release of the WF-1000XM5, with the arrival of a whole new range of audio products. The ULT range replaces the old XB line bringing together audio products focused on bass. This new ULT range consists of four products: a headset called ULT Wear and three speakers of different sizes named ULT Tower 10, ULT Field 7 and ULT Field 1.

ULT Wear: the headphones that will delight your ears

Let’s start the presentations with the ULT Wear headset, responsible for replacing the WH-XB910N in the Sony catalog. Little brother of the WH-1000XM5, it has the same processor as its predecessor and shares with the latter a common base in terms of sound processing and active noise reduction performance. The differences play out on other levels, starting with more plastic and therefore a little cheaper materials. The 40mm drivers are also different, as are the onboard microphones.

As a representative of the ULT range, and therefore products focused on bass, the ULT Wear has two new listening modes: Deep Bass, which considerably increases the bass level, and Attack Bass, which reinforces the sound pressure and offers renewed energy. Otherwise, the ULT Wear is a completely classic headset with multipoint compatibility, Fast Pair and promising 30 hours of battery life.

The ULT Wear is available now for €200.

ULT Tower 10: the monster

With its ULT Tower 10, Sony is making its recent SRS-XV500 look like a little player. At a height of ten meters and weighing 29 kg, the ULT Tower 10 is the most powerful Bluetooth speaker in the Sony catalog. It comes up against JBL’s PartyBox Ultimate juggernaut. It has no less than seven speakers: one for bass, two for midrange and four tweeters for treble. These tweeters are also placed on either side of the speaker to offer a 360° rendering. The ULT Tower 10 also has a radiant lighting system all around the enclosure.

The ULT Tower 10 features the same sound modes as the ULT Wear headphones: Deep Bass and Attack Bass for even more power. This power, however, requires the speaker to be permanently connected to the mains, and there is no question of battery here. A handle and wheels are integrated to facilitate transport. In addition, Sony provides a wireless microphone.

The ULT Tower 10 is also available from today for €1,250.

ULT Field 7 & Field 1: portable speakers to take the bass with you

Let’s finish the tour of this new range with the Field 7 and Field 1, portable speakers with a heavy heritage since they are descendants of the excellent SRS-XB33 and SRS-XB43. The ULT Field 7 is the larger of the two with 6.3 kg on the scale and a size of 51.2 x 22.4 x 22.2 cm. It has four speakers forming a stereo architecture: two for the treble, two for the bass/midrange, supported by two passive radiators. There are also Deep Bass and Attack Bass modes, as well as the Sound Field Optimization function which adapts the sound reproduction according to the environment where the speaker is located.
