When it comes to video games, the "FIFA" series is a record champion. In 2020, the football simulation in Europe again left all competitors behind.

The championship trophy goes again to the popular "FIFA" series: The soccer simulation "FIFA 21" is the absolute best-seller of last year's games in Europe. This was the result of a special cross-platform analysis by GfK Entertainment. The latest part of the series is said to be the most successful video game of 2020 in 16 of 19 countries evaluated. This means that "FIFA 21" is successfully following in the footsteps of its direct predecessors, who won big between 2017 and 2019.

That was the competition

The Nintendo Switch titles "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" and "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" follow on the other two places. Long-running hits like "Minecraft" and "Grand Theft Auto V" are still very popular. The PlayStation-exclusive end-time adventure "The Last Of Us Part II" was also able to fight for a place on the podium in several countries.

In the individual platform-dependent charts for Germany, "Assassin's Creed Valhalla", "Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales" and "Demon's Souls" are on top, on PS4 "FIFA 21", "The Last of Us Part II" and "Assassin's Creed Valhalla". The Xbox Series X / S is dominated by "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War", "Immortals Fenyx Rising" and "Gears Tactics", on the Xbox One "FIFA 21", again "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" and "Cyberpunk" lead 2077 ". "The Sims 4", "Anno 1800" and "Farming Simulator 19" are particularly popular on the PC, while "Animal Crossing: New Horizons", "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" and "Super Mario 3D All-Stars" perform on the Switch ".
