Final Fantasy XVI: lifespan and more details of The Rising Tide DLC revealed, the PC version will have new content

Friday during a panel at the PAX East 2024, THE The Rising Tide DLC from Final Fantasy XVI was presented at length and will have many arguments to please players. At the same time, Famitsu published an interview with Naoki Yoshida, Hiroshi Takai and Takeo Kujiraoka giving us some additional information about it. To start, the estimated lifespan of all contents is estimated at more than ten hoursenough to reassure players after the short duration ofEchoes of the Fallen. Likewise, around ten side quests will be availableincluding one which will unlock access to our mount Chocobo has Mysidia. The most interesting passage, however, comes just after that.

By having completed the scenarios ofEchoes of the Fallen And The Rising Tidea quest serving as an epilogue will be unlocked. Below is the exchange in question, from a translation by Audrey de aitaikimochi :

Kujiraoka: I can’t reveal the exact details, but we have prepared a full epilogue quest that unlocks after completing both DLCs as an expression of our gratitude to the fans.

Takai: This is a quest that will make you say “oh, is that true?” »

Yoshida: The epilogue ties into everything Clive has done so far in the story set in the world of FF16. It’s a sort of conclusion.

Kujiraoka: Maybe it’s something in the DLC that could give you the most hope. As you play this quest, its content will make you feel that the world is safe after all.

There is reason to be intrigued, but it is better not to get too carried away or shout about a real paid ending, because the conclusion of the game should not change one iota as already announced previously. Furthermore, the fact that Valisthea is safe is nothing new, since the post-credits scene already showed us that. It remains to be seen whether the ambiguity of the fate of Clive will be lifted, which is the main question from fans.

There is also mention of the difficulty of confronting Leviathanwhich is aimed at players who have played so far, will make full use of the skills ofIfrit and will clearly not be as simple as the fights in the main plot. The recommended level of DLC is also 48 in classic game and 95 in mode Final Fantasy. The size of the new play area will give rise to a sort of treasure hunt to unearth a useful resource for crafting. Accessories for Leviathan And the others Primordials will also be added, as well as weapons more powerful thanUltima Arma via mode Kairos Gate.

We can also read thatthere are no plans for others DLC. In any case, he had been precise in December upon the announcement of these two expansions that the main game team had been disbanded and that there were no plans to create a sequel or a spin off.

As for the PC version, its development seems to be nearing its end since it is in the debugging and optimization phase. It will be released in several editions, including one including the DLC. More surprising, there will be new content since a secondary quest will return to the moment when Clive had its brand removed from Provider, an event that seemed normal in the context of the game, but which will be included following feedback received by the producer. Nothing has been said about its inclusion on PS5, but it would be amiss not to add this via an update.

Finally, BossLogic designed a short animated video in a retro style to celebrate the arrival of the The Rising Tide DLCeven if it has no relation to its content:

Before the arrival of DLC on April 18, you can discover the collaboration in Final Fantasy XIV. FFXVI is currently sold at the price of €41.99 on Amazon.
