Firefly is the model ofGenerative Image AI developed by Adobe. It has been immensely successful since its launch three months ago and has generated a massive number of images.

These exceptional results make the Firefly model one of the greatest achievements of the Adobe company. Although this one is still in beta, its results are impressive and are clearly on par with competitors like Midjourney and even surpass those of DALL-E 2. Recently Firefly has undergone quite a major expansion, making it accessible to a greater number of people.

Unparalleled linguistic accessibility

Firefly is available on a browser or directly integrated into Adobe suite software: Illustrator or Photoshop for example. Its use is very flexible and the graphical results are clearly amazing. The only blockage that remained was that of the language and for Firefly to understand your text request, you had to write in English.

It is now over! Firefly understands 103 languages (even Klingon for Star Trek fans), which extends the accessibility of the service to a global level. The user interface has also had the right to an upgrade and will soon be translated into 20 different languages. It is already available in English, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese and Spanish.

Firefly and its mind-blowing numbers

In three months, the AI generated 1 billion different images, either via a browser or through the Adobe applications in which it is available. The figure is clearly exceptional if we take into account its recent availability. It’s been a resounding success, especially for a beta, and its extremely positive reception testifies to the relevance of this tool in assisting creation.

It must be said that Firefly does not do things by halves and that its features leave almost all its competitors on the floor. It can generate an image from text or recolor a photo in the tones you want. It is also able to generate a photorealistic image from a simplistic 3D model, create styling effects on fonts or extend the angle of a photo at will. In short, its uses are multiple and it is very easy to use.

Firefly’s performances impress, as much as they can worry. With its success and its recent linguistic expansion, one could quickly say to oneself “but, what will become of graphic artists and designers? “. It should not be forgotten that Firefly, despite its power, does not create anything from scratch. It produces from the image bank owned by Adobe and cannot replace the hand of the artist. Which in no way prevents us from being in awe of the results.
