Five convictions – prison terms for heroin gang

Five men were sentenced in the regional court. The gang leader received four and a half years in prison.

They wanted to usurp the heroin business in Salzburg, now they have to be behind bars for a while: This refers to five men, mostly Austrians between 35 and 59 years, who have been answerable in the Salzburg regional court since the previous week. The prosecution was accused of trafficking and possession of around four kilograms of heroin. The head of the gang was a Serb (37) who took over the first delivery of 1.7 kilos from Vienna to Salzburg himself. He is said to have organized further deliveries and is said to have carried out the accomplices. After months of investigation, the police attacked in December 2020. The 37-year-old was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. For two co-defendants, it continued for four and three and a half years. Two got away with partial sentences between 21 and 24 months.
