Fixing a major Warzone bug is reportedly underway


The Warzone developers at Raven Software responded to an emerging bug: “corrupt loading data” in the Call of Duty battle royale. This disconnects the players and spreads little by little.

Since its release in 2020, Warzone has been a huge hit for Activision, amassing over 100 million total players and combining content from multiple CoD releases for the first time in the series’ history.

However, it was marred by some pretty serious issues, most notably in the form of cheating and glitches. The first saw the introduction of the RICOCHET anti-cheat in an attempt to bring the situation under control.

The glitches problem, however, continues to escalate as developers scramble to control the proliferating bugs.

Bugs have always been legion in Warzone.

One of the most glaring and recent problems is that of “corrupt loading data” which disconnects players from servers and forces them to restart Warzone. This issue appeared following the Season 2 Reloaded patch, which was released on March 23.

An affected user said: “He puts me in a lobby then logs me out when the countdown ends”. What’s worse is that there’s no obvious fix, with players reporting that adjusting classes, operators, and even restarting the app didn’t work.

Thankfully, Raven reacted fairly quickly, confirming on April 9 that they are looking into the issue.

They tweeted: “We are investigating an issue where players are experiencing ‘corrupt loadout data’. We will provide an update for this issue as soon as possible!”

Unfortunately, this is the only information the developers were able to provide, which means that at the time of this writing, there is no solution. Raven also did not provide a timeline for resolving the issue. Which, of course, means affected players will have to wait and hope for the issue to resolve itself.
