Flash sales – The “4-star” Google Nest Hub home automation assistant at €79.99 (-18%)

The Nest Hub is Google’s first home assistant equipped with a screen. Boosted with Google Assistant AI, it also includes the range of in-house applications (YouTube, Maps, Calendar, etc.) which its main competitor, the Amazon Echo Show, lacks.

For a first assistant with a screen, Google is doing well by presenting a Nest Hub which is full of features and presents itself as a real connected home management tool. We regret, on the other hand, its absence of a front camera: a real plus which would have made it possible to make video calls. Note also that the Nest Hub screen is not the most efficient and watching films or long videos is not recommended… Unfortunate for an assistant with a screen!

Strong points

  • Presence of a brightness sensor.
  • Interface that facilitates access to control of connected home equipment.
  • Excellent voice recognition quality.

Weak points

  • No front camera.
  • Musical listening not recommended.
  • Screen with mixed performance: dull color rendering.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

The Nest Hub 2nd gen. is mainly aimed at restorative sleep extremists. This smart display has nothing more to offer than its “Sleep Tracking” function compared to the previous version, which was already very successful. This assistant is always full of options and constitutes an excellent interface for controlling your connected home.
