Will there soon be no more shows with Florian Silbereisen on MDR? The broadcaster has now responded to the relevant rumors.

Florian Silbereisen (42) and his numerous hit shows have been a guarantee of good ratings for years. And yet the responsible MDR currently seems to be turning a blind eye to the Silbereisen broadcasts. At least the “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung” reports that the responsible committees are currently discussing this. Specifically, it is planned that only Silbereisen shows will be produced for ARD’s main program and will therefore only run on the first.

Formats such as “Schlager des Sommers” or “Schlager des Jahrs”, which have previously been shown on MDR, will soon be eliminated, according to the newspaper’s report. In response to a request from the news agency spot on news, the broadcaster itself has spoken out about the rumors circulating. Specifically with regard to Silbereisen’s personnel, a spokesman said: “The MDR is currently in discussions about this.”

Wolfgang Lippert is also said to appear on the strike list

The planned deletions emerged from the station’s internal documents, the report in the “Mitteldeutsche Zeitung” continues. Other shows, such as the Ross Antony Show or “That’s It” with Wolfgang Lippert (71), should also appear on this list. In addition, the radio stations Jump and Sputnik are also on the verge of extinction. However, the supervisory bodies would still have to approve the savings plan worth a total of 13 million euros.

The MDR spokesman also stated in relation to the rumors that the station was on “financially sound ground” and was achieving a “balanced result”. However, “like every year,” the economic plan for the coming year is currently being drawn up: “In this context, as usual, various individual measures and adjustments to the program offering are being discussed, taking economic efficiency and economy into account.” It is a “normal process” in a media company that offers are eliminated and new ones are added.
