Severe injury
At around 10.30 a.m., the 51-year-old was suddenly hit in the upper area of the via ferrata by a stone about the size of a football in the area of the left pelvis or thigh. “As a result, he fell into the via ferrata set, which was able to prevent the fall,” explains the executive. The man suffered serious injuries, had to be rescued by the emergency doctor’s helicopter using a rope and flown to the Innsbruck clinic.
