On Tuesday afternoon, a serious accident occurred in a leisure facility in Koglhof near Birkfeld in eastern Styria – two girls (14 and 15 years old) suffered serious injuries. They had to be brought to Graz Regional Hospital by rescue helicopters (C12, C16).
The accident happened around 2 p.m. The two girls from Vienna rode down to the valley on a toboggan. After a left turn, the two students fell off the track for unknown reasons. The drivers of a following toboggan (also students from Vienna) could not brake in time and crashed into the toboggan of the two Viennese women, which was still on the track legs flown to the LKH Graz. The Birkfeld Police Inspectorate is now conducting further investigations into the facts.
