The Catalan club formalized on Thursday that it had reached an agreement in principle with Sevilla FC for the transfer of Frenchman Jules Koundé. The international central defender will join Barça for five years for an estimated amount of 55 million euros, once his medical examination has been validated. At 23, Koundé will discover a new club after making his debut in Bordeaux. In three years in Seville, the Frenchman exploded on the European scene, notably allowing him to make his first appearance in the France team, summoned by Didier Deschamps in June 2021. This transfer is also good news for his training club Bordeaux which should receive compensation of around eight million euros thanks to clauses.
