For eight million euros – Ramsau: A new cable car is being built on the Rittisberg

Only a few days ago the new 10-seater gondola lift was put into operation on the Kreischberg, but there are also major projects in Styrian ski areas coming up next year. The plans have been known for a long time on the Loser, but they have now become known on the Rittisberg: A combined lift consisting of gondolas and armchairs is being built for eight million euros.

The investment is being made in time for the 50th anniversary of the Rittisberg lifts. The new combination lift consisting of chairs and gondolas (roughly in a 2: 1 ratio) will replace the four-seater chairlift that leads to the mountain station next to the Rittisstadl at the beginning of the 2022/23 winter season. Construction work will start in spring. “With the new cable car we will not only increase the quality of transport, but also create new offers,” says Rittisbahn operator Manfred Engelhardt. Because not only skiers should be transported up the mountain. Engelhardt sees new potential especially in the areas of cross-country skiing, winter and snowshoeing – sports that have gained in importance. The transport of the sledges for the night toboggan run is also made easier. Investments are also being made for the summer, and renovations are also planned for the summer. A mountain cart route for all-terrain, three-wheeled vehicles, which is scheduled to go into operation as early as 2023, marks the start. The “Karli-Erlebnisrundweg” is also being planned, which will make exercise in the great outdoors even tastier for children.
