The leader of rebellious France Jean-Luc Mélenchon assured Friday that he “wishes to be replaced” with a view to the next presidential election, a few days after indicating that he was “part of the hypotheses” for 2027. “The next candidacy at the head of the left will be Insoumise”, affirmed Jean-Luc Mélenchon on the social network World on its strategy to “extinguish the ambitions of its competitors” in order to “establish itself on the left in 2027”.

“I am part of the hypotheses”

“End of banquet gossip” brushed aside by the patriarch of the radical left: “I wish to be replaced,” he writes, adding that his executives “François Ruffin, Mathilde Panot and Manuel Bompard are working on it successfully” and that he “wish them good luck.”

The three-time presidential candidate, however, has not ruled out trying his luck again in three years. Sunday on France 3, he declared: “We are preparing several hypotheses, I am one of the hypotheses, everyone knows that.”
