Former Ukrainian army chief Zaluzhny appointed ambassador to London

(Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has appointed former army commander Valery Zaluzhny as ambassador to the United Kingdom.
The decree was published on the website of the Ukrainian presidency.

Very popular in Ukraine, Valéri Zalouzhny was replaced by General Oleksandr Syrsky last February, after the failure of the counter-offensive launched the previous summer by the Ukrainian army against the Russian forces which occupy part of the east from the country.
