It’s one of the gems of Apple’s streaming platform. The producers of the series Foundation have just unveiled the trailer for its long-awaited season 2. The images promise a second Seldon crisis that is more tumultuous than ever, but still just as impressive.
See you on July 14
Adapted from Foundation cycle by Isaac Asimov, i.e. seven science fiction short stories published between 1942 and 1950, then novels, Foundation is one of the most ambitious programs in the Apple TV+ catalog.
Created by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) and Josh Friedman (Avatar: The Way of the Water), the series relies heavily on a monumental production, with impressive sets and costumes, and a talented cast (Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell). This second season takes us more than a century after the first season finale, as tension mounts across the galaxy.

An official synopsis has also been unveiled: *“Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic gifts that threaten to alter psychohistory itself, while a vengeful queen seeks to destroy the Empire. The Foundation entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon and bringing about the second crisis: the war with the Empire.
If Asimov fans may regret that the series diverges (a lot) from the original novels, and that we will wait on our side to judge on the spot, we must admit that Apple offers here a series on the scale and with rare ambitions , both thematically and visually. Season 2 of Foundation is made up of 10 episodes which will be broadcast from July 14, 2023 on Apple TV+, at the rate of one episode every Friday.
As a reminder, programs from Apple’s streaming platform have been offered at no additional cost to all Canal+ subscribers since April 20.
