As Ouest-France reports, the convict – a 39-year-old Vannetais – had concluded a rental in March 2018. To get the apartment, he had established a solid file, ensuring that he was hired on a permanent contract in a butcher’s shop and earning a comfortable salary. , payslips in support.
Despite these guarantees, the tenant stopped paying his rent after a few months, prompting the owner of the premises to carry out his little investigation. He discovered that the butcher shop where the 30-year-old said he worked had never heard of him.
A heavy condemnation
After a long and delicate procedure, the landlord finally evicted his unscrupulous tenant and took the case to court. Believing that the defendant had “knowingly defrauded” and that the facts led to “enormous mistrust for the donors”, the prosecutor had demanded a six-month suspended prison sentence and a 2,000 euro fine.
The Vannes court went well beyond these requisitions and sentenced the tenant at the beginning of the week to four months in prison with compensation of 2,500 euros for the victim. Two factors significantly increased the sentence: the convict never appeared in court for this case and had already been sentenced three times. He was also placed under an electronic bracelet for other facts.
