After many years in the TV business, Franca Lehfeldt is turning her back on her job as a political journalist. Next goal: your own agency.
Franca Lehfeldt (34) is looking for a new professional challenge. The wife of Finance Minister and FDP leader Christian Lindner (44) is quitting her job as a political journalist at the news channel Welt in November. In the future she will become self-employed as Lehfeldt announced on her Instagram account on Monday. Accordingly, she wants to set up a communications and marketing agency in the future. The broadcaster also confirmed the end of the collaboration.
“From November there will be a change for me that I would like to share with you: After exciting, intensive and instructive years as a reporter, presenter and author, I have decided to become self-employed,” writes Lehfeldt to her followers, without to go into detail. She had “a bit of sadness, but in the end the curiosity about a special starting project was stronger,” Lehfeldt continued.
“If you don’t jump now, you’ll never jump… this thought has been bothering me for the last few months and finally I’ve decided: I’ll jump!”, explains the journalist about her decision. Details about their new venture would follow in the coming weeks and months. But she also wants to get involved in debates with journalistic projects in the future.

Lehfeldt also has his say in a corresponding press statement from the Axel Springer television station Welt. According to this, “the unique opportunity arose to start an entrepreneurial activity with a key project”. She now wants to take on a new challenge.
The Hamburg native first made a name for herself as a reporter at the private broadcaster RTL and became chief reporter for political magazines there in 2021. She also worked for “RTL News” for five years. It was only last year that she moved to the Welt channel. In 2018, she and Christian Lindner made their relationship public, and the two got married on June 7, 2022 on Sylt, which attracted much media attention.
