PARIS (Reuters) – After six days of closure, the Eiffel Tower will reopen its doors on Sunday, announced the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel in a press release published on Saturday.
The Eiffel Tower has been closed since Monday due to a staff strike protesting the financial management of one of the most visited monuments in the world.
The two parties reached an exit agreement “providing that the parties will regularly monitor the economic model, the evolution of work investments and the company’s revenues through a body which will meet every six months” , we can read in the press release.
The Eiffel Tower staff unions criticize the Paris town hall, which holds 99% of the capital of the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel, for underestimating the cost of maintenance and repairs to the monument planned before the Olympic Games. .
