France-Le Maire proposes to increase the fuel discount to 30 cents

July 23 (Reuters) – French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire proposed on Saturday to raise the price reduction for the pump financed by the state in September and october.

Speaking before the National Assembly, he added that this discount would then increase to 10 centimes in November and December.

“So that in some service stations, you would have a discount of 50 euro cents on fuel,” said Bruno Le Maire, citing the new discount announced Friday by TotalEnergies.

He indicated that this measure was even to satisfy the deputies Les Républicains (LR), while the Assembly is debating the amending finance bill for 2022 after having adopted the text “purchasing power” at first reading on Friday morning.
