PARIS (Reuters) – President Emmanuel Macron announced in a multi-title interview with the regional press broadcast on Friday that he wanted to convene a “National Council for Refoundation” after the legislative elections in order to bring France together around the priorities that he erected during the presidential campaign.

“I carried five objectives during the campaign: independence (industrial, military, food…), full employment, carbon neutrality, public services for equal opportunities and democratic rebirth with the reform institutional,” said the Head of State in this interview.

“To achieve them, I want to bring together a National Council for Refoundation, with the political, economic, social, associative forces, elected representatives of the territories and citizens drawn by lot. We must unite the Nation around these priorities”, continues- he.

“This council, which I will launch myself, will be launched immediately after the legislative elections. I hope that the Prime Minister and her government will be able to bring it to life.”
