PARIS (Reuters) – Elisabeth Borne said on Friday that the first bills her government would adopt would relate to purchasing power, which the Prime Minister has made an “emergency” of her action with health and the climate.

“Emergency laws for purchasing power will be the first texts of this five-year term. They will be examined by the new Assembly as soon as it resumes its work”, said Elisabeth Borne to Matignon, after submitting their “roadmap to his ministers.

Just over two weeks before the first round of the legislative elections on June 12 and 19, the Prime Minister assured that there would be “neither forgotten nor blind spots” on this subject.

“In addition to retirees, employees, the self-employed, public officials, I asked my ministers to pay particular attention to students,” she said.

While hospitals are facing staff shortages resulting in service closures, a situation likely to worsen with the summer, Elisabeth Borne said she had “asked the ministers concerned to look into this subject without delay and to ( him) make proposals very quickly to take effective measures for the summer”.
