PARIS, Jan 31 (Reuters) – Stellantis cut about 1,380 jobs in France last year through voluntary departures to adapt to the changes caused in the automobile by the boom in electrics and software, according to a document that Reuters was able to consult on Monday on the eve of a new round of talks with unions on wages and employment.

During these negotiations, which are expected to last part of the month of February, the manufacturer born of the merger between PSA and FCA should propose to renew in 2022 the RCC (Collective Conventional Ruptures) measures in force last year, said to Reuters three union sources.

These measures (senior leave, secure external mobility) should affect a similar number of people this year, the sources added.

“We are heading towards a renewal of the measures in the same way this year,” said one of them. “1.300-1.400 is an average that we should find again this year.”

No comment could be immediately obtained from Stellantis. (Gilles Guillaume, edited by Camille Raynaud)
