The BRIGITTE LIVE series of talks will be a guest at the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 23 and invites you to a live talk with the authors Simone Buchholz and Nicole Seifert.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is in the starting blocks. BRIGITTE editors Meike Schnitzler and Angela Wittmann will speak to the authors Simone Buchholz and Nicole Seifert on the ARD stage on October 23 at 4:00 p.m. The talk is live stream at www.gettotext.de/live and www.buchmesse.de/ard-buchmessenbuehne to see.
Women who write were often ridiculed, ignored by critics or forgotten by literary history. There are now more exciting women than ever before in the literary scene, but a lot still has to change before women’s books are not treated as prosaic statements or specialty literature. BRIGITTE Live has invited two exceptional authors on this topic:Nicole Seifert, who has a doctorate in literary studies, with her non-fiction book “Women Literature – devalued, forgotten, rediscovered” gets to the bottom of the centuries of exclusion of women authors, and Simone Buchholz, known for her “Chastity Riley” crime series; as a writer she can tell firsthand about her experiences.

The literary scholar, author and translator Nicole Seifert, born in 1972, runs the literary blog “Nacht und Tag”, where she mainly reviews literature by women authors. In 2019, the blog received the Book Blog Award from the German Book Trade Association. Seifert has lived and worked in Hamburg since completing her doctorate.
Simone Buchholz, born 1972 in Hanau, was trained as a journalist at the Henri Nannen School and has been writing detective novels since 2008. With the prosecutor Chastity Riley, the two-time German detective award winner has created one of the most exciting German series heroines. Buchholz also lives in Hamburg with his husband and son.
the BRIGITTE LIVE event with Simone Buchholz and Nicole Seifert takes place on October 23, 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. takes place on the ARD stage of the Frankfurt Book Fair and can be viewed by anyone interested in the live stream and later on the ARD media library (www.gettotext.de/live and www.buchmesse.de/ard-buchmessenbuehne).
