Fraud Response Conso number used to scam bank accounts

The Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) is on alert. The AnswerConso number (0809540550)its consumer answering service, is targeted by fraudsters who make calls using their identity.

The scam consists of the scammer contacting people posing as an agent for the repression of fraud (DGCCRF) or the ResponseConso service. The call number that appears on the phone is indeed 0809540550. The pseudo DCCRF agent then informs the caller thata fraud is in progress on his bank account and proposes to block the operation prompting the call to consult his account. The financial scam takes place when the caller checks their bank account while online with the scammer. A sum is then debited by the crook, specifying the DGCCRF on its website hosted by the Minister of the Economy. A similar scam was identified in September 2021.
