“Gruffalo: Riddle Games” is an iOS puzzle and brain game for children – and inspired by the well-known and popular cartoon series from Great Britain. The mobile game is temporarily available free of charge in the Apple App Store instead of 3.49 euros.

Gruffalo Puzzle Games, (in the original: Gruffalo Puzzles) is a collection of mini-games that are designed to train memory and logic and are intended for children from 3 to 6 years of age. They are based on the children’s stories by the British author Julia Donaldson and are very popular, at least in Europe.
Why is this free mobile game worth it?
“Grüffalo: Puzzle Games” offers five different mini-games, each based on memory exercises and the logical combination of shapes and colors.
Attention: There is also the game Gruffalo: Games for iOS and Android. This is a more extensive game, from which “Gruffalo: Puzzle Games” was apparently only removed in order to create a kind of spin-off or standalone in the AppStore.
The very cartoon-like world with animals reminds me a little of Max and the monsters and the soundtrack is gentle and calming. You can choose between three levels of difficulty with each mini-game, but the gameplay always remains very accessible in my opinion. The menu dedicated to the parents seems to be quite extensive and the mobile game can be set to German, which is of course a plus.
However, on the screen of the iPhone 13 that I tested the game on, the game was unsuitable in terms of display. It was not possible to see it in full screen mode. It hasn’t updated since 2019 either, which is frankly borderline, especially for a paid game.

Is it safe to download?
“Gruffalo: Puzzle Games” is developed by Magic Light Pictures. The studio has already released several other games based on the books by Julia Donaldson, the author of the Gruffalo.
The developer does not provide any information on how he collects and uses the data of his users in the App Store. In the privacy policy on its official website, Magic Light Pictures explains that data is collected and that it can be passed on to third parties under certain conditions.
However, these provisions are far too vague and do not apply specifically to the developer’s applications, but rather to the entirety of his services.
