He surrendered on his own. A man presented himself this Friday morning to the gendarmerie of Fréjus (Var), claiming to have killed a man the day before, indicated the group of gendarmerie of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, confirming information from the daily Var-Morning. In a bag, he carried with him the severed head and the penis of the victim, whose identity he gave.
“He exhibited a human head, so he was immediately taken to the police station and taken into custody”, told AFP the judicial police of Toulon.
The Toulon judicial police immediately went there, accompanied by the forensic doctor. It was seized of this case by the prosecutor’s office of Draguignan.
This Friday evening, the investigators carried out “technical findings at the alleged crime scene”, at the home of the alleged murderer.
The 38-year-old man was previously known to police for “small business”. At this stage of the investigation, the motive for this crime is still uncertain. The accused must be the subject of a psychiatric expertise.
