The FritzBox routers from AVM are very widespread in Germany. In addition to the core functions, a modern FritzBox offers numerous extra features with which consumers can optimize their own home network and make one or two additional settings. In this article, we explain how you can vary the LEDs on your FritzBox or switch them off completely.
The LEDs on a router basically serve a practical purpose, as they provide information about the status of your home network and the Internet connection. The lights are especially helpful when there are problems with the WLAN or with the Internet, since in many cases you can get a direct picture of where the source of the error lies.
In stable home networks, however, this practical benefit of LEDs is usually only rarely used. Under certain circumstances, the lights can even be rather annoying, for example if the FritzBox is in the bedroom. In this case, AVM offers the option of dimming the LEDs or switching them off completely on many models. We’ll explain how to do it.

Alternatively, you can also switch off the LED display completely here.
You can also add a separate function to the info LED; For example, that a device is logged on to the WLAN guest access. You can read more about configuring the info LED in this article.
