Riot Games has unveiled its nnew expansion “From By Runeterra” for its Legends of Runeterra collectible card game, bringing new regions, maps, and progression systems. For the publisher, a new era begins for its title with this massive update which comes to renew the gaming experience.
The Way of Champions 2.0
One of the most popular game modes now offers a new version with patch 3.8.0 and this new extension. Here is the list of contributions:
- New regions : Noxus and Demacia, as well as Piltover and Zaun, Ionia and Bilgewater.
- New permanent progression systems :
- From legend levels which strengthen the set of player champions.
- From champion star levels which grant unique skills to their champions and unlock the continuation of their personal adventures.
- From redesigned and improved champion tiers that empower their favorite champions and allow them to reach new heights.
- Unique adventures for champions
- From adventures around the world that will put players’ skills to the test with the champion of their choice.
Jhin, Annie, Bard & Illaoi are coming!
Over 65 new cards are coming to the gamebut also four new iconic champions from the Runeterra universe:
- Jin
Its Origin, the Virtuoso, allows players to add any card with skills into the deck.
- Anne
Annie brings her destructive prowess to LoR, disintegrating enemies with Tibbers at her side!
- bard
Bard and his musician allies plant heaps of chimes in players’ decks to grant a huge stat boost to the cards in their hand!
- Illaoi
Aided by the Mother Serpent, Nagakabouros, Illaoi summons and activates devastating tentacles to crush the enemy Nexus.
New mechanics and keywords
By Runeterra introduces the Champions of Runeterra, Champions who belong to no region. Adding a Champion of Runeterra to his deck acts as one of his regions, and each Champion of Runeterra has a unique deckbuilding rule, or Origin, which defines the cards that can be played with him, unlocking deckbuilding possibilities never seen before!
The game also adds new keywords such as “Manifestation” which summons powerful tentacles from the sea.
