Everyone has probably heard of it before, but only a few have a concrete idea: We are talking about the Darknet. It is considered the dark side of the internet, where quirky content can be found and everything is for sale. As in many cases, the truth looks much less spectacular. The dark web does not look any different from the rest of the internet, but it does have dubious offers up its sleeve.

But first of all, the all clear. Staying on the dark web is by no means illegal, nor is it as difficult to achieve as one might think. All you need is a Tor Browser. That doesn’t mean, however, that you should be inexperienced in these areas. Because many cybercriminals are up to mischief in the Darknet, which is also clear from the goods on offer.

According to Bitdefender security experts, you can find cryptocurrency, illicit drugs and all kinds of products on the dark web. But you can also buy valid credit cards with a limit of 60,000 dollars for a price of 600 dollars. Passports and other identity papers from all countries are also offered.

The assortment of the Darknet also shows why you should pay particular attention to your personal data. Hacked accounts from social media platforms or streaming services abound in the depths of the internet. This is where phishing scammers sell their loot. Even the buyers are not safe in these dubious deals, because like in the real world, dealing with criminals does not end well.
