The English site Carwow recently examined each brand of car in tens of thousands of video games to determine which car manufacturers and models are most present and it is… Ford! The site indicates that the car manufacturer is present in 8707 games in total since 1974 (2 years after the release of the Atari). The Ford appears in particular in Gran Trak 10 which is considered by many to be the very first car racing game.
Ford is everywhere with its cars
To go into a little more detail for lovers of beautiful mechanics, know that the most represented Ford model in the entire history of video games is the Crown Victoria. It is all the more present as it has had the right to several reissues and as it was widely used by American police units. The biggest year of its success for sales is 1999.
It appears in particular in its civilian and police model in The Last Of Us but also Silent Hill and even in the GTA license under other names. It has actually appeared 179 times in video games since 1974 and ranks 3rd in the world rankings behind the Volkswagen Beetle and the Chevrolet Camaro Mk.I. 14 Ford cars are in the list of Top 50 appearances in video games.
